Annual Community Expo Celebrates Commerce in Tinley Park
The Saturday event, held at the Tinley Park Convention Center, will include local vendors, live entertainment and free food samples.
Residents are invited to attend the annual Discover Tinley Community Awareness Expo on Saturday at the Tinley Park Convention Center.
The free event is hosted by the Tinley Park Community Resources Commission, and, according to Commission Secretary Denise Maly-Politano, the expo is an opportunity for the village to celebrate commerce in Tinley Park and encourage residents to support local business.
The expo will feature more than 150 booths representing Tinley Park businesses and government and nonprofit organizations, including several vendors with a focus on home improvement and health and wellness. Many will offer free giveaways.

“The community awareness expo is a great way for area businesses and organizations to showcase the services they provide to Tinley Park residents,” said Trustee Thomas J. Staunton Jr. in a media release on the village website. “It also gives residents a chance to see what’s available in their area, so it’s a win-win for everyone.”
The event will include live entertainment, such as performances from Mr. D’s Magic Show, TnT Extreme Dance and the Tinley Park Bulldogs Cheerleaders. Kid-friendly activities such as face painting, a model train display and a martial arts demonstration will take place as well. Several local mascots will also be available to meet and mingle.

The Illinois Fallen Heroes Traveling Memorial Wall will be exhibited at the expo. The wall honors members of the military from Illinois who died in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Several local restaurants will offer food samples, including Peppo’s Great Sub Sandwiches, Parmesans Wood Stone Pizza, Little Joe’s Famous Pizza and Restaurante and Creative Cakes.
