FRIDAY, NOV. 16

Health Worker Accused of Stealing, Cashing Checks of Woman in His Care

Belguutei Budbayasgalan, 20, of the 6300 block of Pine Ridge Drive, was charged with felony unlawful exploitation of an elderly person after stealing three checks for stealing and cashing three personal checks worth almost $13,000 from the woman he had been caring for as a health care worker for nine months, according to a police report.

Budbayasgalan told investigators the used the $12,940 from the checks to pay for the down payment on a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro that he wanted to buy for his birthday, the report stated.

MONDAY, NOV. 19

Dealership Reports Missing Minivan

Family Hyundai, 8101 159th St., reported a black 2012 Chrysler Town & Country minivan missing from the lot after a salesman went to sell it, according to a police report. The minivan was accounted for by the dealership's manager on Nov. 5 during a vehicle inventory, and he had the only key to the minivan, the report stated.

FRIDAY, NOV. 23

Chicago Ridge Man Caught Taking FedEx Package

Mohammed A. Sharkh, 18, of the 10500 block of South Oak Park Avenue in Chicago Ridge, was charged with misdemeanor theft after being accused of taking a FedEx package not belonging to him from the front porch of a house in the 16300 block of Parliament Avenue, according to a police report.

TUESDAY, NOV. 27

Traffic Stop Leads to Alcohol Charge

Mario Garcia, 36, of the 6500 block of West 26th Street in Berwyn, was charged with the illegal transportation of alcohol and driving without a valid license after a traffic stop at around 4:45 p.m. in the 17100 block of Harlem Avenue, according to a police report.

WEDNESDAY, NOV. 28

4 Stores Cited For Selling Cigarettes to Minors

Employees at four stores were cited for unlawful sale of tobacco to a minor as part of a check by police. The shops cited included:

  • Sahara, 7899 W. 159th St.
  • Super Kmart, 16300 S. Harlem Ave.
  • Walgreens, 8400 W. 171st St.
  • Tobacco House, 8005 W. 183rd St.

All those tobacco shops on 183rd and 80th avenue sell to high school kids. Tinley Park could make a fortune in fines if they sit outside those stores on a Friday afternoon.
