Incumbents Remove Village-Funded Photos from Campaign Site
Following a complaint by several challengers to four incumbents' use of village-funded photos on their reelection website, the incumbents removed the photos as of Thursday, Jan. 31.
Days after a complaint was filed over four Tinley Park incumbents' use of village-funded photos on their reelection website, www.TeamTinley.com, the photos were removed as of Jan. 28, Sun-Times Media reports.
Earlier this week, mayoral candidate Steve Eberhardt, and trustee candidates Karen Weigand, Andrew DeLuca and Nancy Petro, filed the complaint with the Illinois State Board of Elections. The complaint was levied against Mayor Ed Zambrocki and trustees Brian Maher, Dave Seaman and T.J. Grady. Village Cleck Pat Rea was also named in the complaint, according to the report.
The photos were replaced by shots of the incumbent candidates at an outdoor event, with the contested photos completely removed from the TeamTinley.com home page.
Eberhardt said the main motivation behind the complaint was to ensure full compliance with the rules, and Rea agreed. However, Rea said that the removal of the photos had nothing to do with the complaint and was simply coincidental, according to the report.

The sad thing in all this manufactured "picture scandal" is any 12 year old could show you how to easily copy the pictures from the public domain Village website and repost them. The porn industry is built on this simple concept. The old Village guys and Ebby the "attorney" have no clue on this. I'd think the 4th Estate or an attorney would know this. The only person who could complain would be the picture copyright holder. Who is that? Anyone on the Grapevine awake?

I'm new to Patch and just saw this post. It seemed like LOOK FOR THE TRUTH was pretty harsh and petty. It made me curious so I went to the State Board of Elections website and checked for myself and found this: "Any funds appropriated by the Illinois General Assembly or by a political subdivision of the State of Illinois. No public funds shall be used to urge any elector to vote for or against any candidate or proposition, or be appropriated for political or campaign purposes to any candidate or political organization." I don't know Eberhardt, but it seems he had a legitimate complaint.

The funds were spent for a Village website use, no issue there, and then the pictures entered the public domain with no copyright mark or notice on the website of ownership. So anyone could have used them from the website? Who owns the photos? If they used the proofs or files from the studio then they were wrong. If they did this, http://tinleypark.org/images/pages/N431/Mayor%20and%20Trustees%20007_thumb.jpg , then no harm. Kind of looks bad, I'll admit that but I don't know how they got the photos, do you?

Seems suspicious that Rea tells one newspaper that coincidentally the photos were going to be changed anyway (Southtowns's response...Riiiiight!) and then tells another newspaper they all ran out and hired lawyers. Seems like Newby hit it.

A little common sense goes a long ways.......open your eyes and look at the picture in this article. The picture in question was intended for the village web site. Seems like anyone can copy it, including Patch. Eberhatchet has nothing to run on other than misleading headlines. He's running out of time, so this picture issue, that has so wronged so many is all he can come up with? Just once, I'd like to hear something positive from him about what his plans are if elected, instead of complain, complain, complain.

Some people are the kind who only look at the pictures in the magazines while others read the in-depth articles. Take a look at "http://eberhardt2013.com/?p=625"

Discover Desperation
Despite clear policy prohibiting campaigning during Saturday’s Discover Tinley Expo at the Tinley Park Convention Center, political candidate Steve Eberhardt crassly converted his booth into a campaign center, featuring a costumed rabbit adorned with political messaging.
Eberhardt ignored the policy when confronted and reminded by expo organizers, who chose not to be confrontational during annual commerce exchange event that drew 4,000 people.
Team Tinley candidates did not politicize the event but did have representatives outside the Convention Center for anyone who requested a brochure on the issues.

If rules mattered to Ebby he wouldn't have lied in court about his lack of funds from his failing law practice for his child support and wouldn't have been fired for being a creepy liar at the states attorneys office. Jack O'Malley fired him and it held up in a court case Ebby lost.
If your thinking Eberhardt or any of his unthinking puppets this election think again please. I'd rather see Blaggo as Mayor then see Ebby.
