Comings & Goings: Orland Plan Commission OKs Tilted Kilt

Acclaimed financial scholar will be speaking in Tinley Park about Illinois' money woes.

Plans to open a Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery in the former Fat Ricky’s at 16255 S. LaGrange Road won approval last week from the Orland Park Plan Commission.

The proposal also would add more than 1,500 square feet to the building, which was vacated recently when Fat Ricky’s moved into smaller quarters in Tinley Park.

The plan now goes to the village development committee for review.

If the full village board approves it, the restaurant and sports bar – sort of a Gaelic cousin of Hooters with waitresses wearing plaid miniskirts and open midriffs – could open as soon as July.

A Tilted Kilt bar opened a few years ago near Chicago Ridge Mall.

Danny’s Corner Evicted

Cook County Sheriff’s Police on Wednesday placed an eviction notice on Danny’s Corner, 9400 W. 143rd St. in Orland Park.

Next plans are still being finalized, though apparently a new owner plans to reopen – possibly as soon as this week – with the same hours, staff and menu.

Not too happy about tilted kilt opening in Orland. There have been several girls suing because of the uniforms/costumes being too revealing and being harassed by customers. I went once with my husband and we walked out!!!

You can see more flesh on girls at Orland pool during the summer. I've been to the one in Chicago Ridge once. Food was okay. Doubt I'd go back, but not because of the waitresses, but because of the food.

What is the Elgin location like? I heard a couple of negative things about the Elgin location. 1) a stabbing 2) Four MMA fights being held there, which was against the terms of the business license.

As for my experience and opinions on Tilted Kilt coming to Orland, I have been to Tilted Kilt a few times, mostly the one in Woodridge. I think the food is pretty good. I think the atmosphere is very fun. The servers are fun, they may sit with your table and chat or flirt a bit, nothing really different than Hooters. I have never seen patrons go overboard. The patrons may flirt back or ask the server out, again nothing different then Hooters or any place that has pretty servers. The most I have seen is a patron or two using their cellphone to sneak a pic of a server without the servers knowledge. But, that is more the way of technology in this day and age. It's too bad as I assume the pics end up on facebook or something. That is too bad, but again can happen at many different places.
As for the uniform. Yeah, I can see how many may think it's too revealing, but like someone else said. You see way more at the pool or waterpark. Here, it's a kilt, a pushup bra and a half shirt that shows off the belly. If anyone wants to get on Tilted Kilt's case about something , it may be that it's obvious that you have to meet certain physical requirements to be a server as in being skinny and have done lots of ab work. :)
I would not want my daughter to work there, but it's the individuals decision if they want to work there. They know that being a server there will get them tons of attention. many offers for dates and I guess a few other offers.

I took my dad to Danny's last Tuesday for dinner and a beer. I was surprised that it was dark when I went past the following few days. Been there several times for a few beers but was never there when the kitchen was still open. I was really pleasantly surprised, great pub burger and really liked the fries. Was looking forward to trying other things on the menu. Best of luck to the new owners if everything goes through. I'll be back, I'm a sucker for a good burger and that was a great one.

I have to agree. Their fish fry is also worth every penny.
