The Bremen High School District 228 board of education could have a few new faces at meetings, following the April 9, 2013 election, if voters decide to elect new members. The ballot will feature six candidates, with three incumbents running against three new comers for three seats on the board.
Below is a listing of the six candidates who will be on the April ballot, along with their hometown.

Larry Canning would be an excellent addition to the Board. Tremendous work ethic and is a graduate of BHSD 228. These are type of people we need to represent out District. To this day, Larry Canning is involved with student/athletes at Hillcrest High School.

it would be nice to hear his views on the present activities of this board. How about the waiver we asked for because we failed to make AYP. Also when can I transfer to OFHS because my school is failing. What about this thing called Physics First my kid went through it and it was a waste of time, now he can't take a real physics course because his schedule is full.

Good luck Larry, if I was in your district I would definatley vote for you, district 228 would be lucky to have you!!! We purposely move to an area where the schools valued education, I know you will iWork hard to bring back the glory days when we attended Hillcrst. Good luck again!!!

I couldn't agree more with Elliot. It's people like Deb Stearns, mad with power, who need to be voted out. This woman had me fired because I spoke of concerns about out-of-district students going to 228. She's gotta go!!!

I cringe every time I hear Debi Stearns open her mouth, she does not inspire confidence. I am dumfounded that she is president of a board that oversees $90 Million.

Deb Stearns should not remain on the school board. She has no idea what a close meeting is or the law on close meetings! Looked at MR. Canning Education. Ms. Stearns has no work history. Ask why she was let go by OFPD? Maybe a freedom of information would show why!
