Employee of the Week: A Caring, Tireless Receptionist

This week, we've picked a real go-getter for our EOM.

Each week Tinley and Orland Patch will seek suggestions from readers for individual employees who are holding it down at work.

We want to hear about local dedicated staff members and will highlight one a week for your Employee of the Month. Submit your nominations in our comment box below or e-mail the information to or at. Be sure to include all of the information that's featured below.

Now, back to business. When duty calls, this week's employee comes running. She's peppy, friendly and always wears a smile. "I honestly love my job," she said. "The bosses I work for, too, are wonderful. When I first started working here I thought, 'Oh I'll work here as an in-between job.' Now, I could never leave. I never knew it would turn into this!"

  • Employee's Name: Katie Zemovich
  • Employee's Age: 28
  • Workplace: , 7060 Centennial Drive in Tinley Park
  • Position: Receptionist
  • Time spent working there: Nearly four years
  • Nominated by: Her boss and the clinic's owner, Sheila Crowe
  • Why? When Sheila, a chiropractor, went on maternity leave in March to have her daughter, Brenna, Katie made sure the practice stayed up and running. "She is very good with all of our patients," Sheila said, in an e-mail. "She manages my staff of therapists and makes sure I am keeping up on collections."
  • Key to Awesomeness: Since Body & Soul's focus is health and wholeness, it's handy to have a both sympathetic and uplifting staff member on hand to effectively communicate with patients. Sheila calls Katie a "sincere and genuine person." She is consistently friendly and truly cares about others inside and outside of the workplace. "If she has bad days, I don't notice it!" Sheila said.
