A man who was blocked in his parking spot at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre took it upon himself over the weekend to move one of the vehicles behind him, police said.

A 49-year-old man whose car was blocked in at the  took matters into his own hands over the weekend after security guards told him he would have to wait until the end of a concert to get out of the lot.

"Both witnesses advised (the suspect) that there was nothing they could do for him until the concert was over," the report said. "(The suspect) advised that he was tired and wanted to go home, and stated he would move one of the vehicles himself."

A little while later, he returned to the parking lot with a forklift—police said he had authorized access to the machine through his work—and used it to move a silver Dodge Durango that was blocking him in. He then moved his Ford pickup truck and returned the forklift to its loading dock.

"The FMBA management asked the suspect for his information," the report said. "The suspect stated that what he did was wrong, but he just wanted to go home and get some sleep."

He provided his name and then drove from the area. The owner of the Durango, who didn't initially want to sign complaints, called police on Monday after taking her vehicle to the auto repair shop. Mechanics told her the SUV sustained damage to its undercarriage.

Police had yet to contact the suspect as of Tuesday, but said complaints would be signed for tampering with a motor vehicle, the report said.
