Lipinski Thrashes Grabowski in Illinois's Third Congressional District
Democrat U.S. Rep. Dan Lipinski cruises past Republican challenger Rich Grabowski to fifth term in Congress. Grabowski says he won't concede until absentee and military votes are counted.
It was a short evening for Democrat U.S. Rep. Dan Lipinski who easily won his fifth congressional term in Illinois’s Third District.
ABC-7 declared Lipinski the winner with 93-percent of precincts counted in Cook, Will and Dupage Counties. Lipinski throttled GOP challenger Richard L. Grabowski, capturing 68 percent of the vote.
Tea Party favorite Grabowski, a Constitutional Conservative who aligned himself with the Republican Party, characterized his campaign against the moderate Democrat as “David vs. Goliath.”
Lipinski thanked voters for their support saying that he was humbled by Tuesday’s victory and looked forward to representing all of the people in the newly relined Third District.
“Throughout this campaign, I heard from Independents, Republicans, and Democrats who are frustrated with partisan bickering that accomplishes nothing. I am hopeful that now that this election is over, we can start working together for solutions to the many issues that we face, beginning with getting people back to work and reducing our mounting debt,” Lipinski said in a press release.
Grabowski said he’d rather get closer numbers when the handful of precincts from Will and DuPage County are added into the final tally before conceding.
"Probably tomorrow morning I will have a better picture when we find out when military and absentee ballots are counted and we’ll go from there,” Grabowski said by phone. “I’m proud that I was able to introduce to ordinary people that you can get out and do this. We made Lipinski run his butt off in all the suburbs and actually run a real race.”

Lets see. Lipinski refuses to debate mr Grabowski... Two times... He didn't want anyone else to know mister Grabowski was there. And you talk about class. Lipinskis cronies trashed mister Grabowskis signs everywhere throughout the district. Lipinski won was because he is a democrat. Just like Jackson. if you ask 95 percent of Mister Lipinskis ( voters ) they can't name 1 thing he has done in his previous terms. they just say "I'm Voting Democrat"..(Yeah!!!) It is good that they voted, but they should know who they are voting for..If I'm correct Mister Grabowski said that he is going to step back, let the elected do their job, and be with his family. He has not commented on his next step. For sure Mayor is not on his plate. Hopefully Mr. L will not let the people down. Kind of sad,,, getting your job as a hand me down, and take a 2000 donation from a certain gentleman that he helped in his previous term. Class???? O.K. Have a nice term ( IDIOTS ) ...next time debate...what are you afraid of. Two invitatios to debate, and you chicken out? CLASS ....O.K.

Grabowski had the worst yard sign in history. All you could see when you drove by was a big '3'.

Lipinski is just a democratic machine puppet. He was "appointed" his seat by the democratic machine back when his father (also democratic machine puppet) retired from Congress. He runs largely unopposed and can keep his seat thanks to the gerrymandering congressional districts put in place by the democratic machine.
