Local Merchants Talk About Riding the Waves of a Fluctuating Economy
Patch spent time with Tinley Park merchants last week, who chatted about ways to survive the recession. They were all cheerful and optimistic about being in business. Find out why.
It's no secret that the waters have been rough for business owners over the past several years.
But sometimes, there are signs of a light at the end of the long, often dauting recession tunnel. The Dow Jones topped 13,000 last week for the first time since 2008. It steadily loomed around that number early Monday.
As the big economic picture seems to be brightening, Tinley Park Patch asked local business owners what adjustments, if any, they've made to weather the recession.
Owners from Main Street Family Hair Care, David Anthony Jewelers, Zettlmeier's Bakerei, Jersey Mike's and Downtown Tinley Park Classy Flowers gave their tips. See the responses above, in the photo captions.
