These Grocery Stores are Open on Thanksgiving
In case you realize Thursday that you forgot yams or cranberry sauce, here are some local grocery stores where you can pick them up.
Who knew hunting down a gallon of milk could pose such a challenge on a holiday? It doesn't have to.
Tinley Park Patch has compiled this list for you of area grocery stores that are keeping their doors open on Thanksgiving.

Open for Business
- Tinley 24/Seven is open 24 hours a day and Thanksgiving is no exception.
- Jewel-Osco will be open until 4 p.m.
- Kmart is maintaining its usual 24-hour schedule.
- Winston's Market will open at 11 a.m. and close them at 3 p.m.
- The 7-Eleven on Oak Park Avenue isn't shutting down at all and will be open round the clock.
- Century Corner Store's hours will be from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Euro Fresh will be open for business from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- CVS Pharmacy on Harlem Avenue and the CVS Pharmacy on 171st Street will both be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. The pharmacy section will close up shop at 2 p.m.
- Tinley Market is open but will close early at 5 p.m.
- Walgreens on Oak Park Avenue is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. However, the pharmacy will be closed all day.
- Walgreens on 171st Street will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The pharmacy will be closed for the day.
Closing up Shop for the Day
- Super Target (It will open at midnight Friday for holiday shoppers)

Both Walgreens will be open on Thanks giving day. My son has to work at Walgreens on Thanksgiving Day.

Thanks for pointing that out, Lisa! I called both places again. It's the pharmacies that will be closed for the day. The stores are open until 6 p.m.
