Who the Heck is That? It's Your New Tinley Park Patch Editor

A fresh face on Tinley Patch, coming to you all the way from Naperville.

If you're a regular user of Patch, or even an occasional visitor, you've probably looked at the photo in the upper left-hand corner of the site over the last two days and thought to yourself, "Paul sure looks different than he did last week."

Well, the jig is up. It's not Paul.

I'm Carrie, your new editor for Tinley Patch. Paul has moved on to equally green pastures in Mokena, where he will bring residents up to snuff on timely education issues — school news is his specialty, after all.

I'm coming to you from Naperville, where I managed a Patch site since September 2010. I've been with the company since last June. Are you confused yet? I like to call all the rearranging, "musical Patches."

Enough about that; let's get to the good stuff.

I'm eager to meet and write about Tinley and its residents. (That is, if you'll allow a Cubs fan to mingle with all of you south siders).

But although I'm at the helm of the site—a responsibility I take seriously—Tinley Park Patch belongs to you, the community. It should reflect your interests, stories, events, fundraisers and all the dynamics that make this village great.

I'm here to support you whether that means reporting on village board meetings or publishing photos from a Girl Scouts' car wash. My goal is to provide the news you want to read, so I will share stories about locals, volunteers, businesses, schools and their students, as well as government. I will provide you with restaurant reviews, arts and entertainment coverage as well as special columns.

As you read this, you become a stakeholder in Tinley Park Patch. It's imperative that I hear from you, whether in story comments, through e-mails, contacts through our online tip form, or just to say "hello" when you see me working in your restaurants and coffee shops. (I will be holding weekly "office hours" at a business in your community and will let you know once I settle on when to have them).

Please (don't make me beg) be liberal with your feedback and help guide me on this journey through your community.
