Patch rounds up the Southland's major criminal and civil cases being heard in Cook County and Will County courts this week.
A New Lenox woman charged with cheating a drug test last year was allegedly up to her old tricks again Tuesday, and this time she attacked the county employee paid to watch her pee in a cup, police said.
Christina Sepsis, 33, of 221 Haines Ave. was charged with aggravated battery and trying to foil or defeat a drug test in connection with the incident in the courthouse basement. Sepsis is on probation for a 2011 conviction for possession of methamphetamine.
Five Indiana men accused of battery and mob action for their involvement in the Ashford House attack case, are one step closer to a plea agreement as they wait for a sentencing recommendation from a Cook County judge.
John Tucker, 26; Cody Sutherlin, 23; Dylan Sutherlin, 20; Alex Stuck, 22; and Jason Sutherlin, 33, have been in custody since May. They are charged with mob action, armed violence, aggravated battery and criminal damage to property.
A pre-sentencing investigation wrapped up this week in Cook County Judge Carmen K. Aguilar's Bridgeview courtroom; if a deal offered by Aguilar isn't favorable to the men's defense team, the case will move forward.
The next court date has been set for Dec. 7.
