HILDA WALKER RED RIBBON WEEK

It’s Red Ribbon Week at the Hilda Walker School!  Red Ribbon Week is an exciting way to encourage the students to live a drug-free life.  The celebration started on Monday, October 22nd, with the students wearing red.  This was their way of
showing commitment to each other; “Hand in Hand, We’re Drug Free”.
Next…PAJAMA DAY!  On Tuesday, the 5th and 6th grade students were able to
go to school in their pajamas!!  Each student signed a pledge stating they
will make their dreams come true by believing in themselves, staying in school,
making the world a better place, and being all they can be by staying
drug-free.  The remaining days of the drug-free focus were, “These Paws
Don’t Touch Drugs”, “I’m Too Bright for Drugs”, and “Stay in the Game, Don’t Do
Drugs!” The Hilda Walker students were also able to make a banner for their own
classrooms, expressing the importance of living a drug-free life.  Hilda
Walker students are from the Summit Hill School District 161.  Walker houses
students from Mokena, Frankfort, and Tinley Park.
