Child Abduction Attempt: 'Let's Show These Poor Excuses for Humanity That We Won't Stand for This'

Patch comment of the day from Debbie McDaniel-Bour.

I watched three of my grandchildren get safely on three different buses this morning and couldn't believe that I was the only adult out watching over our children. What could have been more important than the safety of your child? Your bed or maybe your morning beverage? Every parent and concerned citizen should be out there making their presence known and showing these poor excuses for humanity that it won't happen again.

Stand outside in your yard or be an aware parent and walk to the bus with your child. It takes a village to raise a child. Where was the village this morning? One of my grandchildren catches the bus at 7:05 while it is still dark and yet I was the only visible adult.

I don't mind watching over any and all children but step up parents let's show these poor excuses for humanity that we won't stand for this. Let's be the village that we should be and watch over our children and their safety. Also, where were you Tinley Park Police? I saw no sign of you. Protect and serve that's what you are supposed to do. I hope that the girl who was injured yesterday will one day feel safe again and that no others have to experience anything like this.
