Parent Will Voice Concern Over Possible Retail Development at D161 Meeting

Some residents in Summit Hill School District 161 are less than pleased about recent reports of a new retail development—possibly a Walmart—at the corner of 191st Street and Harlem Avenue. At least one—Jen Vargas—told Patch she will be speaking at the board meeting at 7 p.m. at Summit Hill's administrative offices, 20100 S. Spruce Drive, Frankfort. Vargas said she is concerned about problems that the development could bring to the area, and she wants to make sure other parents are aware of what's going on. Go to the district's website for the meeting's full agenda.
