Bears Show Improvement, Somewhat Anyway!

A blog for diehard Chicago Bears fans, the best fans in football!

Hello Bears fans!

Some improvement was shown for sure Saturday against the Titans. The rushing game came to life, with Matt Forte leading the way with 74 yards on 17 carries and a touchdown. The score didn't do the Bears justice.

They may have lost the game, but overwhelmingly dominated just about every game stat.

The Bears amassed 416 total yards on offense, averaging 5.5 yards per play. Not bad numbers.

The offensive line had a second straight game of solid play. Matt Garza seems to be doing a great job being thrust into the center position. If you looked at the stat sheet without knowing what the outcome had been, you probably would have bet anything the Bears won this game easily.

Well, that's where the lack of improvement comes in play. In three games so far this preseason the bears ability to put points on the board hasn't been very good. Im starting to wonder, do we have the talent to run a Mike Martz offense?

Roy Williams was brought in with the hopes of being the big physical red zone target cutler has been needing. Well news flash, so far not happening! He did great in a red zone drill in practice although catching two TD's from Jay Cutler!

Thats good Roy, now translate that to gameday! Don't get me wrong Roy Williams has talent, and I'm hoping us Bears fans see that talent, but I'm not getting very excited.

For me personally the toughest thing about being a Bears fan is always settling for second or third-tier offensive free agents.

When is the last time the Bears made a big splash in free agency for an offensive player? Anybody? Then to make matters worse if we do get lucky (and I mean lucky because our history of drafting offensive players is horrid) and draft a guy that turns out to be a player (Bernard Berrian) we let them go to a rival.

After losing to Green Bay in the NFC title game, it really made me see a lot of issues with this team, and I don't think any of them have gone away.
