Rhino Sports Academy Opens Second Private Sports Facility for Basketball and Baseball in Romeoville

1/30/14 Frankfort, Illinois - Rhino Sports Academy has expanded it’s reach by opening a second private facility, nicknamed “The Ville”, to hold it’s baseball and basketball teams. This second, 16,000 SF facility, has been opened in Romeoville, Illinois and has a full basketball court, training infield, Crossover Symmetry, moveable pitching mounds, 2 retractable batting cages, and a speed, strength and agility room.

“The Rhino House”, which is Rhino Baseball’s first facility located in Frankfort, Illinois, is a 11,000 SF baseball facility which has a training infield, 4 hitting pods, 2 batting cages, Crossover Symmetry, and three clay pitching mounds.

Greg Blaesing, Co-Owner and Director of Player Development for Baseball, understands that having the two facilities strategically located, Rhino Baseball and Basketball will draw players from numerous towns in the southwest suburbs including Homer Glen, Lockport, Mokena, Tinley Park, Naperville, Bolingbrook, and Plainfield.

National Rhino Sports Academy, or NRSA for short, started in 2012 with ten travel baseball teams in the southwest suburbs. In 2013 Rhino Baseball saw tremendous growth and now has 20 travel teams in Illinois (ages 7U to 18U) and 4 travel teams in Appleton, Wisconsin.

Not wanting to limit Rhino players to one sport, especially at the youth levels, management at NRSA saw a need for a basketball program that encompassed everything its baseball program accomplishes; top instructions, dedicated coaches, speed, strength and agility program, recruitment services, and a private facility for their players.

Building the court in its second facility, Jack Williams, Head of Basketball Operations, believes it is a critical step in building a top program. In it’s inaugural year, Rhino Basketball was home to a 5th and 6th grade boys teams. Looking to have teams in the fall, spring, and winter, Rhino Basketball will be home to 4th through 11th grade teams going forward.
