Buy a $24 Book ....Get $100 In Free Dental Care!

Many books come with a bonus...but Dr. Zack Zaibak’s is free dental care

The well-known Tinley Park dentist is author of The Hidden Truth Behind Beautiful Smiles. The book, now in its second edition, was briefly a Barnes and Noble health bestseller. The paperback walks readers through the process of improving their smiles answering questions such as:

 · Which teeth bleach lasts the longest?

Find out what's happening in Tinley Parkwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

·  Which so-call “whitening” toothpastes do more harm than good?

·  Which sugar substitute actually helps your child have straighter teeth?

Find out what's happening in Tinley Parkwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

·  Why a brighter smile has the biologic effect of making a person happier?

However, the dentist has always been frustrated because most consumers don’t know the greatest “hidden truth” of all: that a routine oral exam can be lifesaving.

Decades of studies confirm chronic gum disease contributes to heart disease, diabetes, strokes, and other life-threatening illnesses, Researchers have found gingivitis is nothing less than a constant open wound in your mouth. The resulting infection and inflammation spread throughout your body.

“I used to treat gum disease all the time,” says Dr. Zaibak.  “It was a free service covered by dental insurance. The problem is the recession. Fewer employers are offering dental insurance and most employees can’t afford to pay for an oral exam out of their own pockets.”

The result is further progression of their systemic diseases. But then Dr. Zaibak has now come up with a creative solution to the problem. “I’ve decided,” he says, “that if patients buy a copy of my $24 book and bring in the receipt I’ll give them a free oral exam and treatment, up to $100 in free care.” The dentist is founder of the Zaibak Center For Dentistry.

Dr. Zaibak says the campaign will probably cost him money, but he wants his book to make a difference. “Why write a book,” he says, “if my patients can’t afford to follow its advice?”

The dental practice has a long tradition of contributing to the Tinley Park community. Dr. Zaibak routinely provides free care to autistic children and domestic violence victims. “My patients have stood by me for 21 years,” he says. “Now times are tough and it’s time for me to give something back.”

“Something is wrong when patients can’t afford a routine oral exam. This is the simplest least expensive treatment we provide. But it’s also the most lifesaving.”
