Culver's of Crete to Hold Benefit Day for Families of Kelsey McGill and Pat Boylan

Culver’s of Crete, 23180 S. Volbrecht Rd., will hold a benefit day for two local students who recently passed away. On Wednesday, August 14, from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Culver’s will donate 50% of the total day’s sales to the families of Kelsey McGill and Pat Boylan.

McGill and Boylan were 2012 graduates of Crete-Monee High School whose lives were taken on July 5, 2013. The two were involved in a fatal motorcycle accident that took place in the school’s parking lot. McGill, 18, was enrolled at Paul Mitchell cosmetology school and Boylan, 19, had just finished his first year at Prairie State.

The teens were loved by many, and Culver’s of Crete owner Katie Smith wants to do everything she can to celebrate their lives.

“Culver’s is first and foremost a business for the people – whether it is our employees, guests or members of the community,” says Smith. “When tragedy hits we want to help in every way possible. Kelsey and Pat attended the same high school I did. This is my hometown. My Culver’s restaurant, with the help of the community, has the opportunity to do some good, and we will.”
