ILLINOIS DIAGNOSTIC ENERGY TESTER (DET) TRAINING COMING TO SOUTH SUBURBAN COLLEGE'S OAK FOREST CENTER

Oak Forest, IL–South Suburban College welcomes BuildRight Illinois to offer Illinois Diagnostic Energy Tester (DET) Training at the Oak Forest Center on Monday and Tuesday, February 24 and 25, 2014.

As part of the 2012 Illinois Energy Conservation Code (based on the 2012 International Energy Conservation Code with various amendments tied to it), blower door testing is required to demonstrate a building infiltration rate of no more than five ACH50.  Duct tightness testing is required where the air handler or any portions of the ducts are located outside of the building thermal envelope or pressure boundary.

This training will cover blower door and duct leakage tests, ACH50 Calcs and Duct Leakage, and Code Compliance Documentation, and is a great opportunity for individuals who are considering a new career path or expanding their business to include these testing services.  Upon successful completion of this training, attendees will be able to test the leakage of a building envelop and duct system and evaluate the results as measured against Illinois code requirements.  This instructor-led class will include lecture, hands-on practice, and a 90 minute written test and 60 minute proctored field practicum.
