No Tricks, Just Treats at Tinley Park HS

What’s better than an indoor community wide Halloween party? A FREE, indoor, community wide Halloween Party complete with entertainment and candy! Recently, over 40 members of the Tinley Park High School Interact Club, led by Mrs. Andrea Johnson, hosted the Halloween party of the year.  This year’s event, newly re-named “No Tricks, Just Treats” brought in over 450 community members and their family and friends.  Based on the turn-out of similar events hosted the past few years, Ms. Johnson had estimated she would have around 150 people at the party, but was pleasantly surprised when they exceeded that numbers in the first ten minutes!  The party was planned by members of the school’s Interact Club, a club that focuses on giving back to the school, community and world by working hand in hand with the local Rotary Club.  Students in the club planned for over a month and fundraised for many of the night’s attractions.

When party goers entered, they were treated to a large bounce house, an inflatable relay race, games and crafts.  Next, the group gathered in the school’s cafeteria for an action packed presentation by Jim Nesci’s Cold Blooded Creatures, where they were up close with alligators, snakes, lizards and a tortoise.  The night ended with a trick or treat walk through the school’s hallways.

The Interact Club is extremely excited about the success of the event and is looking forward to making next year just as successful!
