SOUTH SUBURBAN COLLEGE PRESIDENT JOINS NEW COMMUNITY OUTREACH POSTS

SOUTH HOLLAND, IL–South Suburban College announces President Don Manning has recently been elected to serve on two regional boards:  Junior Achievement (JA) of Chicago and the Chicago Southland Chamber of Commerce (CSCOC).  These new volunteer posts continue Manning’s commitment to community outreach and educational accessibility in the south suburban area.

Junior Achievement of Chicago is an educational nonprofit bringing financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship programs into classrooms from kindergarten through high school.  JA of Chicago is the largest JA office of more than 120 area offices in the United States and reached an all-time high of 445,460 students during the 2012-2013 school year.

“I look forward to working with Junior Achievement to engage young people in the elementary schools and the high schools of our district,” said Manning.  “Through my position at the college, I have the ability to expose these students to opportunities that may hopefully lead to the successful, rewarding careers they deserve in the future.”
