Southwest Chicago Christian School Takes 2nd Place at Math Triathlon
The seventh and eighth grade 'mathletes' from Southwest Chicago Christian School in Tinley Park recently took second place in Trinity Christian College's annual Math Triathlon. Each year Trinity Christian College invites seventh and eighth grade students from Christian schools from around the mid-west to compete in math relays, team problem solving, and individual math events. Southwest Chicago Christian School took second place out of twenty seven teams. Each participant also takes an individual test to start the day as part of the competition. The tests are graded by Trinity's math education students, and, seventh grader, Lucas Kits (Orland Park) placed in the top three out of over 300 kids in the individual test.
