SSSBA TO HOST "JUMPSTART YOUR WEEKEND" WITH SOUTH SUBURBAN CHORALE AT SSC

SOUTH HOLLAND, IL–The South Suburban Small Business Association (SSSBA) is hosting a “JumpstART Your Weekend” event at South Suburban College (SSC) on Thursday, October 3rd from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.  This event will showcase the South Suburban Chorale.

The “JumpstART Your Weekend” events offer business members of the SSSBA an informal introduction to some of the south suburbs’ most fascinating and thought-provoking arts organizations.  The events are hosted on the first Thursday of the month.

The 130-voice South Suburban Chorale has established itself as one of the premiere singing ensembles of the Chicago Southland. Under the direction of SSC’s own music faculty member, Albert M. Jackson, the Chorale has performed in concerts throughout the Chicago south suburbs and Northwest Indiana, presenting major works such as Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, Mozart’s Grand Mass in C minor, Mendelssohn’s Hymn of Praise, the Mozart Requiem and Bernstein’s Mass.  This season the Chorale is joined by the Chicago Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra to perform the magnificent Brahms Requiem.
