Tinley Park HS Fundraising Efforts Help the Philippines

Tinley Park High School Senior, Danielle Pascual, wanted to do something to help the people in the Philippines, where she was born.  On November 8 the Philippines were devastated when Typhoon Haiyan made landfall.  The current death toll is 12,000, and there are many people who have no electricity, food or water.  Last month, the Tinley Park High School store, the TITAN ZONE, donated $200 to help with the relief effort.  The money was collected by school store workers who visited the lunch room and classrooms and gave the store profits from a day of sales.  Danielle was able to wire the money directly to a contact she had in the Philippines who, in return, sent back pictures of the items that were purchased and the people who benefited from the student’s generosity.  It’s amazing to see how such a small amount can make such a big difference!
