Tinley Park HS Students Visit the French Alliance

On February 25, the French 3, 4 and AP students from Tinley Park High School, along with their teacher Mrs. Selime Baftiri, went on a cultural adventure in downtown Chicago to explore history and cuisine of France at the French Alliance.  Students began their excursion by preparing Quiche Lorraine in the kitchen of the French Alliance with a chef from France.  They then proceeded to the “salle de classe” where they learned about the tragedies of World War I and the changes that took place in France after this bloody war.  They followed the discussion with a film entitled “Joyeux Noël,” which translates into Merry Christmas, and is based on the true story of the soldiers of the opposing forces taking a break from the war on Christmas Eve.  The field trip was enjoyable and informative for all who attended.
