Doing the Impossible in Tinley Park

Thursday, May 2nd is the Natonal Day of Prayer, and while many focus on Washington D.C., the city of Tinley Park became a focal point.

Many would think the impossible to be consistent sunny days in Chicago or no traffic ever. While these would be amazing wishes, another type of wish happened today.

Thursday, May 2nd is the Natonal Day of Prayer, and while many focus on Washington D.C., the city of Tinley Park became a focal point. A collection of religious faiths gathered by the fountain at Zabrocki Park to do one thing and one thing only, pray.

Pastor Mark Timmer of Faith church, Father Joe Panek of St. George, Pastor Adam Malak of Faith United Presbyterian and the pastors and staff of Family Harvest Church all gathered to pray from 11:30am - Noon.

The prayers were focused on the following:

  • Leadership of the country
  • Military protection and their families
  • Tinley Park and surrounding community businesses
  • Mayor Zabrocki and his team
  • Children protection in schools and in churches
  • Being mindful of technology/media and its place before God
  • Strong and growing families

In the midst of our prayer time for everyone else, a scripture came to mind that so beautifully explained our time in prayer.
