Annual Kids Fishing Derby Ready to Cast Off

The Del Melton Kids Fishing Derby takes place on Saturday, June 14

Get your rod, reel and tackle box ready — it's time for the Tinley Park-Park District's annual Del Melton Kids Fishing Derby. The Del Melton Fishing Derby is for kids age 2-13, and prizes will be awarded for largest fish caught and most fish caught in each of the three age categories (2-6 years, 7-10 years and 11-13 years).

The Fishing Derby takes place on Saturday, June 14 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Centennial Park docks (7220 W. 167th St., Tinley Park). Registration fee is $10 per resident child and $13 per non-resident child. Registration is available at the Tony Bettenhausen Recreation Center (8125 W. 171st Street) leading up to the fishing derby, or registration will be taken on site at Centennial Park the day of the fishing derby from 8:30 to 9 a.m.
