Cold Knocks Out Internet, Cable Service for Some Residents

Some Tinley Park customers have been without Comcast service for about 24 hours during a time

During a time when many people had an excuse to stay inside to watch TV or surf the web, extreme cold knocked out service for some Tinley Park Comcast customers, including the Tinley Park Public Library, on Monday and Tuesday.

The frigid temperatures has affected Comcast's equipment, and repair crews have had trouble responding because of hazardous road conditions, said Angelynne Amores, a spokeswoman for the company. Comcast provides Internet, cable TV and phone service to business and residential customers throughout the region, including Tinley Park.

As of early Tuesday afternoon, Internet service had been restored to all Tinley Park customers, Amores said.

Many customers, however, were reporting they had been without cable TV for 24 hours and still had no service as of late Tuesday morning. Work crews are out responding to calls as best they can in the cold weather, Amores said.

Tinley Park residents who are still having trouble with their Comcast service should call the company's service line at 800-266-2278.

I lost all Comcast services (phone, internet, tv) yesterday (Monday) morning, with the last email I received at 3 a.m. Monday evening about 6:00 p.m. my internet and phone worked again, but still no tv. The tv went on at about 1:30, but my internet and phone went off again for about an hour. Now all 3 services are working properly at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Our TV was out from 11 am Monday until 2 pm Tuesday. Internet worked. So much for the National Championship.

Comcast I would like to see some refunds on this issue,also lesson learn don't package all 3 services together even thought it might be cheaper,also the phone service seemed to be out completely ,what about people that don't have cell phones what if they needed emergency service specially the old how would they call if I'm wrong on this issue please inform.Also I had no service last Friday but it was like 4hours before it came back on,then Monday it was out all day all 3 services, a day everyone needed because of the conditions.

I live near the TP post office. Our internet was out all day Monday and TV did not come back until Tuesday. I can live without TV, but loosing internet is not acceptable. Without getting to technical, I would like to know what went wrong that caused such a widespread and extensive outage. Shame on Comcast for not having repair parts close by.

Shame on Tinley Park for allowing a cable monopoly from such a horrible company. I would switch to AT&T but their DSL service is not much faster than dial up, and their Uverse TV is not compatible with TIVO. Competition works. I had great service in Chicago Heights from WOW who geat Comcast there with Service and Price.
