Calvary Church to Launch Recovery Fellowship

Calvary Church is starting a new program on Saturday nights called Recovery Fellowship.

This is an innovative program with contemporary worship, relevant messages on recovery from Recovery Coach and Pastor Ron Ovitt, and great time of food, fellowship and fun.

To kick off Recovery Fellowhip, we are calling upon the citizens of our communities to join together for a Prayer Vigil against Drug Addiction on the first Saturday of the New Year, Jan. 7 at 5 p.m.

The purpose of the vigil is to pray, raise awareness and build solidarity against this horrific drug epidemic.

The community is invited to pray for:

The families of those who lost dear loved ones in 2011 to an overdose.

The agencies, hospitals and organizations that are working to bring treatment to those in need.

The police, EMTs and firefighters who are on the front lines fighting the violence, theft and chaos that results from the addictive lifestyle.

The many ministries that are working to bring spiritual solutions to the needs of those that are victims of this vicious plague.

You don’t have to be a member of Calvary or any church to attend, it is open to the public.

If you know someone who has passed away and would like their name read at the prayer vigil, contact Ron Ovitt at Ron@calvaryop.org.

Calvary Church has had a successful Recovery program for more than five years.

On Mondays there is SOZO at 7 p.m. This program uses the latest in neuroscience and Christian spirituality to help people regulate their emotions, return to joy and stop medicating themselves. Hundreds have attended this program with the majority breaking free from their addictions.

Relapse No More is a small group that meets in order to learn what has led them to relapse in the past and to change the factors that keep leading them down this road of destruction.

Pastor Howard Hoekstra is a recovering alcoholic and has been abstinet for 20 years.

Pastor Ovitt is a Recovery Coach with extensive studies in the new Affective Counseling and memory transformation. This new and innovative approach to emotion regulation treats the negative effects of trauma and gets to the root lies and interpretation of the past.Combined with “Mindskills” and Christian Spirituality, SOZO is making a tremendous impact on those that come.

The goal of Recovery Fellowship is to help more people become aware of these exciting teachings and help them learn to regulate their emotions in positive and meaningful ways.
