It's Getting Hot Out There

Officials are asking residents to stay indoors, stay hydrated and check on elderly friends and relatives.

Don't let the overcast skies fool you. Temperatures in Tinley are about to heat up.

The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory at noon, lasting through midnight Saturday. Thermometers are expected to creep into the mid- to high- 90s, with heat index readings of up to 105 degrees, it said.

The is asking residents to stay indoors in air-conditioned rooms as much as possible. They've opened a cooling center at the Senior Community Center, 17355 68th Court, for those seeking relief.
