The Village of Tinley Park participates in the National Night Out event as a way to bring awareness to local law enforcement.
But for the kids who attended Tuesday night's event at Zabrocki Plaza, the most important thing was getting an up-close look at the fire trucks, police vehicles and construction rigs.
