The weather cooperated Sunday — oh, and no burnt food came off the grill — making the annual picnic at the a success.
Members of the post brought their families to enjoy a free day of food and fun. Junior Vice Commander Cliff Pappas organized the picnic. He considered it a good turnout for the last Sunday of the month.
"I try and do something new every year," he said. "This year, I added beer brats to the menu along with sweet corn and watermelon."
Pappas also had goody bags and face painting for the kids.
" ... It's a time to relax, spend some time with friends and family," he said.
