Photo Gallery: Rev Your Engines for the Best From the Tinley Corvette Show

Hundreds turned out to see America's favorite muscle car Sunday. Actually, 200 of them.

If Prince were to visit on Father's Day, he would have hundreds of corvettes from which to choose a muse for his Little Red Corvette song.

Besides red Vettes, Sunday in downtown Tinley featured yellow ones with blowers, and some with special, custom designed paintings on their hoods. There was even one— a 1955 Corvette from Apple Valley, Calif.—worth $500,000 owned by Scott and Marilyn Davis. It drew the most attention at the Corvette Show, which was held in the lot of the Oak Park Avenue Metra station.

Many songs, movies and awards have recognized the beauty and power of the Chevrolet Corvette, the "King of muscle cars." Motor Trend selected it as the car of the year in 1984 and 1998, according to its website and Hot Rod magazine selected the 1973-1974 LS6 454 as the most collectible of all muscle cars. It's also been used as the pace car at the Indianapolis 500 ten times.
