Rear View: 5 Market Finds, Vikings, Pets, Bears and an Armed Robbery

Tinley Park police arrested a Plainfield man last week after snatch-and-swear incident at First Midwest Bank Ampitheatre. Employees at the theater reported Lorenzo had stolen a Motorola Radius CP200 radio valued at $860 from a south guest accessible table.

Vikings and their spouses are flocking to Southland from as far away as Boston and New York this week as part of the 80th National Convention of the Independent Order of Vikings, which is being hosted this year by the , 6730 W. 175th St.

THURSDAY

While at a continuing legal education seminar in Cancun, Mexico, township supervisor Paul O’Grady and his wife Debbie were talking about chickens and other animals running loose in the streets. Eventually the conversation shifted to abused animals and overloaded shelters. Soon the idea entered in to add pet food and goods to the township’s food pantry. The Palooza is today! Are you going?

FRIDAY

Police Investigate Armed Robbery at Tinley Park Shell

Tinley police said they responded around that time to Shell, 17101 Harlem Ave., around 3:30 a.m. last Sunday for a call about an armed robbery in which the offender was dressed in all black and wearing a ski mask and gloves. He had displayed a large knife and fled in an unknown direction, police said.

Bears to Stage Youth Football Camp in Tinley

Southwest Chicago Christian School of Tinley Park will play host to a Chicago Bears Youth Football Camp from July 11-15.
