The American Veterans Motorcycle Riders Association greeted U.S. Air Force Capt. Daryl Cesal on Friday night at the Tinley Park Convention Center, escorting him to his retirement party at VFW Post 2791.
Cesal served in the Air Force for 25 years, serving as the branch's deputy intercollegiate liaison for its athletic department.
Set up as a surprise, the procession had a police and fire department escort, which briefly shut down Oak Park Avenue around 6:30 p.m. Before reaching the VFW, Cesal thanked the AVMRA members who turned out, as well as his wife and three children, who supported him during his time in the Air Force.
