Tuesday morning rush hour could be a game of snow roulette, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
A “heavy band” of lake effect snow is forecast to hit southeastern Cook County until 9 a.m. Tuesday morning, including Tinley Park.
But there’s a catch.
The National Weather Service says the snowfall region will be less than 10 miles wide, so conditions can vary dramatically in a short distance. The heaviest hit areas could get 6 to 12 inches of snowfall.
Temperatures are also expected to plummet and “dangerously cold wind chills” may exist.
