Tinley Park to Honor Veterans with Ceremony at Rea Plaza

The ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. May 26, at General Patrick E. Rea Veterans Plaza.

The Tinley Park Veterans Commission will present the 2014 Memorial Day Ceremony at 10 a.m. Monday, May 26 at the General Patrick E. Rea Veterans Plaza, which sits adjacent to the south entrance of the 80th Avenue Metra train station, 18001 S. 80th Ave., Tinley Park.

The ceremony will feature the posting of colors, a rendition of the National Anthem, a recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance, music by the Victor J. Andrew High School Band, and the presentation of a wreath in memory of all fallen veterans.

Speakers will include Mayor Edward J. Zabrocki, Trustee Dave Seaman, a retired Air Force colonel; Veterans Commission Chairman Maj. Wiley Roberts, USAFR (Ret.), the Rev. James Finno of St. Stephen Deacon and Martyr, and U.S. Army Sgt. Tony Castillo.
