UFO Researchers Touch Down in Tinley Park

A group of noted UFO researchers will offer up their knowledge on UFOs and related extraterrestrial topics.

UFO enthusiasts—and those curious about sightings in the area—are encouraged to descend upon the Hilton Garden Inn this weekend.

The Heartland UFO Summit will touch down at 18335 S. LaGrange Rd. Oct. 26–27, with presentations from renowned experts offering "a sober look at a most puzzling mystery."

Sam Maranto, Orland Park resident and State Director of Illinois MUFON, will share his in-depth knowledge of the 'Tinley Park Lights'—several sightings of three lights in a triangular pattern, dating from Aug. 21, 2004. The lights then made another appearance on Halloween of that year. Years later, eyewitnesses still wonder if the well-documented lights are an elaborate prank or unknown phenomenon.

Maranto authored a book on the subject.

The summit presents a look at the UFO phenomenon, "translated through the hearts, minds and eyes of experienced and impassioned professionals whose many years of investigative research and valued insights are now made available to you."

Other speakers include Richard Dolan, Donald Schmitt, David Marler, and Victor Connor.

Presentations and more events are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door, and more information is available at www.heartlandufo.com or by emailing Maranto at mufonsam@comcast.net. Due to limited seating, advanced purchase is encouraged.
