Weather Service: Conditions This Afternoon Could Make for Isolated Tornadoes

More thunderstorms are in the forecast for tonight, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for Tuesday that warns of thunderstorms that could produce isolated tornadoes in the Chicago area, including Cook County.

These thunderstorms may come with heavy rain, winds in excess of 60 mph, quarter-sized hail and frequent lightening strikes, the warning said.

“Additional strong to severe thunderstorms are expected to develop across Northern Illinois late this afternoon and evening and drop southeast across the outlook area,” the outlook warning continues.
