“A Midsummer Night’s Dream” performance Nov. 30 at Lewis University

The National Players will perform "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 30 in the Philip Lynch Theatre (PLT) located on Lewis University's main campus in Romeoville. All are welcome to attend; tickets may be purchased for $10 per person. This event is being presented as a part of Lewis University's Arts & Ideas Program, providing cultural and educational programming for students and the community.

In this production of one of William Shakespeare's most revered comedies, the "wonderful and silly vagaries of love" will be shown. There will be a fresh twist on the setting that makes it relevant to today's fast moving electronic media saturated world. The woods glow in the dark and the fairies dance, setting the scene for "The wacky things that happen when a man loves a woman who loves a man who loves another woman."

During the performance, one will discover just how much love potion is too much. The magical and mystical confusion of William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" consists of four young lovers, a band of actors and the King and Queen of fairies. In a lover's quarrel of titanic proportions, one can experience mistaken love, dark nights and dubious tricks in this classic comedy turned electric farce.
