Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra to Host Carnival of Venice Dinner Party and Benefit

The award-winning Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra will host Carnival of Venice – an Italian Fanfare Dinner Party and Benefit on Sunday, Feb. 27, starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Tinley Park Convention Center, 18451 Convention Center Drive, Tinley Park.

Carnival of Venice is the orchestra’s largest fundraiser of the year and showcases an impressive silent auction, an Italian inspired menu, and live entertainment by the Southland’s own Ben Clark Quintet.

Reservations are $65 per person and can be made online at www.ipomusic.org  or by calling the IPO at (708) 481-7774. Proceeds benefit the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra and its growing education programs for 3rd through 8th grade students.

“Our auction is truly spectacular,” said Elaine Brickman, chair of the orchestra’s Special Events Committee. “Friends of the IPO, board members and volunteers have been working non-stop for the last several months assembling gift baskets and asking Southland businesses to donate goods and services for the auction,” she said. “Local merchants from Tinley Park, Frankfort, Flossmoor, Park Forest and Olympia Fields have been very generous.”

Specialty items include a five course “Round the World” Dinner Party for 15 at the home of an IPO Board Member, Disney Park Hopper Passes, an IPO String Quartet for your special event, a 2010-2011 Chicago Bulls team autographed basketball, theater and concert tickets, fine dining and wine tasting packages, spa and salon gift certificates, and much more.

“It’s such a festive evening complete with dinner, dancing and entertainment,” added Brickman. “It’s a great opportunity to meet new friends while supporting the orchestra and its exceptional youth education programs.” she added.
