L-W Student Artwork on Display at Vogt Visual Arts Center

A collection of artwork by Lincoln-Way East and Lincoln-Way North high school students is on display at the Vogt Visual Arts Center in Tinley Park.

Visitors will see a variety of art mediums, including pencil, chalk pastel, acrylic, stippling, graphic design, photography, computer art, paper collage, jewelry and ceramics, at the arts center now through Nov. 23.

“The art department staff is always excited for opportunities to be able to showcase student artwork through the involvement in art shows,” said Phil Labriola, the art department chair at Lincoln-Way East and Lincoln-Way North high schools.

“We appreciate the Vogt Visual Arts Center for giving our students this opportunity to exhibit their artwork and display their remarkable talent and hard work,” he added.

Among those displaying artwork at the Vogt Visual Arts Center are: Nick Garcini, Abbey Maloney, Ashley Miyagawa, Lee Lieser, Gabriela Valencia, Madison Squires, Rebecca Dobrich, Nikki McGee, Mitchel Clayton, Ben East, Brandon Craven, Kasper Borys, Cody Roering, Kristina Witczak, Nicole Vignasse, Josh Clarke, Jessica Anderson, Sarah Anderson, Katherine Pijanowski, Jeremy Bieser, Madeline Rittgers, Raegan Campbell, Rachel Murff, Mike Crowley, Dayna Grybas, Samantha Pointon and Cristin Colgan from Lincoln-Way East.

Lincoln-Way North students who have pieces on display at the Vogt Visual Arts Center are: Remi Gregory, Nileema Patel, Marina Barajas, Hayden Zegley, Shane Conlin, Maeryl Timola, Alyssa Sparacino, Caitlin Broderick, Stephanie Pearson, Tanya Green, Heena Soni, Amy Harjung, Tyler Svehla, Alex Gutierrez, Kristie Benedetto, Elizabeth Paluch, Becca Francis, Gabrielle Denuna, Michelle Payer, Lewis Cafaro, Brooke Kirschsieper, Cynthia Rozak, Mary Claire Vuckovich, Nicole Doherty, Michelle Lorenz, Nicole Vitro, Eric Knaperek and Michaelene Kapec.

Their pieces will remain on display at the Vogt Visual Arts Center through Nov. 23. A reception is scheduled for the artists from 7-9 p.m. Nov. 11.

Gallery hours are: Tuesdays, 7-9 p.m.; Wednesdays, 4-7 p.m.; Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.; Fridays, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
