South Suburbs 3rd Annual Ballroom Showcase

Ballroom dancing has taken the country by storm.

On May 22, Tinley Park’s own Heart & Sole Dance will put on its third annual Ballroom Showcase.

The South Suburbs will get a chance to watch all ages of ballroom dancers live – a culmination a year’s worth of work for youth, adults and professionals.

Tickets are selling fast. “We sold 70 percent of the seats in the first week of sales," says studio manager Alex Wilhelm. “Tickets are walking out the door!” Buy tickets at the studio or online at www.HeartSoleDance.com.

“Each year that we’ve held the showcase, we’ve grown!” says champion dancer and owner of Heart & Sole Dance Maren Oslac.  “Our youth classes double each year and adults keep finding us!”

“We teach all ages," says Maren. "And the youth are particularly exciting to watch develop.”

“The fact that not only are my children learning complex dances and structure but making friends, working on social skills, and they have the opportunity to perform at various events, this helps with their self-esteem and people skills,”  says Sarah Hogeveen, of New Lenox, whose children Madison, 7, and Morgan, 5, both dance at Heart & Sole Dance.

The showcase starts at 4 p.m. at the Nathan Manilow Theater of Freedom Hall, 410 Lakewood Boulevard, Park Forest.
