Tinley Park Corvette Show

Area Corvette enthusiasts are in for a treat when almost 300 of the popular cars will be showcased in downtown Tinley Park from 2-7 p.m. on Father's Day, Sunday, June 19, which is part of the National Council of Corvette Club's annual conference being held at the newly expanded Tinley Park Convention Center.

Live music will be also be featured from 2-4 p.m. (blues band, King Snakes) and 5-7 p.m. (hard rock band, Heartless). 

Food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the event, located at Oak Park Avenue and North Street near the Oak Park Avenue train station.

Car show awards will be announced at 7 p.m.

At 1:30 p.m., a parade of Corvettes will leave the Convention Center and travel east on 183rd Street, then north on Oak Park Avenue to downtown Tinley Park.

The Corvette Club conference, which is expected to draw about 700 participants from throughout the country, is one of the first major events to take place at the Tinley Park Convention Center since its recently completed expansion.

Corvette Show to close train lots, North Street

Sunday's Corvette Show will close the Oak Park Avenue train station parking lots as well as North Street.

Those planning to ride the train Sunday are encouraged to use the 80th Avenue station that day. Cars should not be parked at the Oak Park Avenue station overnight Saturday or Sunday morning through Sunday evening.

North Street will also be closed beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday through the end of the car show.
