Grab & Go Kids Planner: Princess Balls, Kickball, Soccer Balls and Pancakes

Why Go: Have tea with Cinderella and dance with Prince Charming at this fundraiser for L-Way North's music programs. Kids can decorate their own picture frame and crown, have their faces painted, hear stories and spend time with high school students playing their favorite storybook princess and her friends.
Pricing: $10 per child, adults get in free

Where/When: on Friday, 6 to 8 p.m.
Why Go: Sox or Cubs? Boys and girls aged 3 to 7 should throw on their favorite baseball team's shirt and play a friendly game of kickball to see if the Sox or Cubs will win. Kids can make a souvenir before the game to take home.
Pricing: $15 for residents, $18.75 for non-residents.

• PIONEER FESTIVAL AND PANCAKE BREAKFAST
Where/When: Pilcher Park Nature Center, 2501 Highland Park Dr. in Joliet, Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to noon
Why Go: Enjoy pancakes with pure maple syrup and sausage for breakfast and stay for a maple syrup making demonstration. Try your hand at pioneer chores including butter churning and ice cream making. Watch pioneer re-enactors show you how things used to be done around the home. Exhibits and breakfast go on rain, snow or shine.
Pricing: $9 for adults, $7 for children under 12

• CHICAGO FIRE VS. SPORTING KANSAS CITY
Where/When: Toyota Park, 7000 S. Harlem Ave. in Bridgeview at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 26.
Why Go: Home opener for Chicago’s Major League Soccer team.
Pricing: Tickets range from $15 to $70.
