Miss One Direction in Tinley? Check Out Videos, Photos From the Shows

Patch scours the web for the best tweets, photos and performance video clips from the pop group's weekend Tinley Park concerts over the weekend. That includes images from a private show Sunday where Harry Styles asked a mom for a chicken nugget.

UPDATED (12:53 a.m. Monday, July 15)

One Direction's two concerts at Tinley Park's First Midwest Bank Amphitheater were sold out affairs this past weekend. But thanks to the wonders of social media, that doesn't mean those fans who couldn't score tickets have to be left out from (vicariously) experiencing the fun.

Patch has scoured Instagram and Twitter to find some of the best tweets, photos and videos from the pop group's concerts Saturday, July 13, and Sunday, July 14. That even includes shots from Sunday's private concert that was reportedly for NetJets employees and their families.

It was at this exclusive show that One Direction's Harry Styles asked the mother of a fan if he could have a chicken nugget, according to someone who tweeted from the event.

Check out the article's photo gallery and Storify feed, which collects the updates, photos and videos of some of the lucky fans who were able to see the English-Irish pop singers. Couldn't score tickets to either of One Direction's concerts Saturday and Sunday at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheater?

You're not alone. As one of the biggest musical events at the Tinley Park venue this season, One Direction's two shows have been sold out for quite a while. But that doesn't mean you have to miss out on all the fun.

Patch has set up a Storify feed that collects the updates, photos and videos of some of the lucky fans who were able to see the English-Irish pop singers. (Editor's note: Mobile device users can go to Storify's website if they're having trouble viewing the Storify feed in the article.)

The Storify feed will give you the details on what's happening, but here's how you can continue to enhance the mood to create that outdoor concert atmosphere right in your own home:

  • Step 1: Turn off the air-conditioner and open windows. Hopefully, you'll have a neighbor with an unshakable taste for Camels to give that faint hint of cigarette smoke.
  • Step 2: Dim the lights as the sun sets.
  • Step 3: Bring a lawn chair inside to sit on, or if you're lucky, you can dump the grass clippings from the mowing you did today on your carpet. This creates a nice lawn seat effect.
  • Step 4: Load the Up All Night, Take Me Home and Where We Are albums on to your iPod and hit shuffle. Pause occasionally to shout, "I LOVE YOU, HARRY!" or "NiALL, YOU'RE SO CUTE!" For added nuance, ask your chain-smoking neighbor to yell, "FREEBIRD!" about three-quarters of the way though, because every concert since the 1970s always has to have that guy.
  • Step 5: Close your eyes and enjoy

There you have it, your very own, personal One Direction concert experience right in your own home. And you didn't have to deal with any of the horrendous traffic to do it.
