Oxygen Teen Nite Club Reopens: Will Your Kid Attend?

The teen dance club—the only one in the area—is ready to open its doors again in Oak Forest.

Although Oxygen Teen Nite Club had its soft opening earlier this summer, the new Oak Forest dance spot for 16- to 20-year-olds—the only venue of its kind in the area—will be holding it's official grand re-opening and back to school bash from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14.

Will your teen be there?

Ever since the club was approved by the Oak Forest City Council last year, Oxygen has been a lightning rod for criticism from residents who claimed the nightspot would be a trouble magnet even before the doors opened.

But the owners have said their customers' safety is their first priority, and that the community should give them a fair shake before judging them.

What do you think?

The teen club provides an opportunity for young DJs from Oak Forest and around the area to show off their skills. Check out Patch's video interview with Oxygen DJs Danny "Damute" Brooks and Mike "DJ Koz" Koz as they talk about what it's like to lay down beats at the club.
