Take a Spin With This Weekend's Pole Dancing Competitors

Dancers from across the country competed during the third annual Midwest Pole Dancing Competition and Convention. The event continues through Sunday. Check out Patch's video of Saturday night's competition.

Get one thing straight: The third annual Midwest Pole Dancing isn't about stripping and it's not about sex.

The competition is about performance and fitness. Think Cirque du Soleil, except less French and sponsored by an insurance company that offers pole-dancing policies.

Forty-eight dancers—men and women—competed as part of the three-day convention, which wraps up Sunday at the Tinley Park Convention Center. Check out the video of some of the competitors from the event Saturday night.

Patch will have more coverage of the event Monday.
