Family, Pets Escape Home Unharmed As Garage Burns

No one was hurt in a Tuesday night blaze that burned a Tinley Park garage.

The fire was contained to the garage of a house in the 16900 block of South 82nd Avenue, said Tinley Park Fire Chief Ken Dunn. The family and their pets were able to leave the home unharmed.

Tinley Park firefighters were called at about 8:47 p.m. The fire was contained a short time later. It did not spread to the rest of the house but the garage was severely damaged.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
